Fairmont Southampton Golf Club
This 18 hole par-3 golf course lies in the grounds of the luxurious Fairmont Southampton hotel and was designed by the legendary Theodore Robinson. Its spectacular changes in elevation make cart usage mandatory until sunset golf. The drop on the first two holes alone is around 200 feet.
Much of the course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, but don’t let the scenic views distract your concentration. Wind is a definite factor and there are several water hazards. The course is an excellent test of iron play and provides a good warm up for Bermuda’s longer courses. The Gibbs Hill Lighthouse overlooks the course.
Lessons with resident professional Bruce Sims, including cart and club rental, last either 30 minutes or 1 hour. The course also has a practice green and pro shop.
Proper golf attire and soft-spiked golf shoes are mandatory. Shoes can be rented.
