Ocean View Golf Course

Ocean View is a 9-hole government-run course with spectacular views of Bermuda’s North Shore. The course has 18 tee positions enabling you to add a second 9 to your first. Be careful not to allow the scenery or a passing cruise ship to distract you; this course can be quite tricky. A pond lurks ominously before the green on the par-3 9th making club selection crucial, particularly when strong winds blow in from the Atlantic.

Ocean View is only a few minutes’ drive from Hamilton and has a recently refurbished clubhouse with restaurant and bar. The course also has a driving range.

Proper golf attire and soft-spiked golf shoes are mandatory.

Reservations by email are preferred, although as with the other government-run courses, Port Royal and St. George’s, reservations can be arranged through an automated reservation system by calling 234 4653.

This course is scenic, hilly, with varied holes. There are three par 3's the last (hole #9) is over a small pond with the green being below the clubhouse. Not a long course -- but a a course whose challenge lies in setting up the your approach shots. Plenty of curves, elevation changes, sloping fairways, and a few bunkers make the course challenging. The fairways shrink as you approach the greens -- many whom are smaller/faster that what we find here in the US. The course has a 130 Slope from the back tees which when just examining the score card may seem high -- but there are plenty spots on the course where your ball will be kicked out of balance or need a relief shot to get back in scoring position. Like most non-American courses the the rough is "rough" and the trees are fairly close to fairways. May be the lest expensive course in Bermuda.
