Port Royal Golf Course
This government-run course, located in Southampton Parish, is consistently ranked as one of the best public courses in the world. Not surprisingly, it is the most popular and heavily-played Bermuda golf course. Designed by course luminary Robert Trent Jones it enjoys spectacular ocean views. Each year the course plays host to the Bermuda Open Championship.
The highlight hole is undoubtedly the much-photographed 16th. The tee and green of this stunning par 3 perch precariously on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It takes a perfect shot to hit the green and avoid a wet ball. The hole is a favourite of Jack Nicklaus.
You can improve your golf by taking a lesson with the resident professional Francis Rabain. The course has a driving range and bar. Greg’s Steakhouse is in the clubhouse and serves Certified Angus Beef Steaks, racks of lamb and more.
Proper golf attire and soft-spiked golf shoes are mandatory.
