Snorkelling in Bermuda

It’s not necessary to go diving to get a close-up view of Bermuda’s marine life; snorkelling in Bermuda can be an equally rewarding experience. The visibility in the water is excellent (200 ft in winter and 100 ft in summer) and the waters warm (averaging around 81 F in summer). The reefs are healthy and generally close to shore, and the fish abundant and colourful.

Snorkelling is possible at most of Bermuda’s beaches but Church Bay and Tobacco Bay Beach are particularly good locations. They also have concessions where visitors can hire masks, snorkels and fins.

Additionally, the cruise ships visiting Bermuda generally offer some sort of snorkelling tour as part of their shore excursion program.

There's also the snorkel park at Royal Naval Dockyard. It's only open in the summer I think and costs about $20. It also has a bar and cafe.
