The Supermart
Visitors from the UK craving a taste of home will be relieved to know that the shelves of the Supermart are stocked with familiar Waitrose products. The store’s deli boasts the largest salad bar in Bermuda and is crowded at lunchtimes with office workers.
The Supermart’s Butcher’s Block is known for its custom cuts of meat, large selection of local and imported seafood and wide range of world cheeses. If you’re having a party they are able to provide custom-made cheese trays and meat platters.
Their in-store bakery offers a variety of breads and baked Bermudian specialities such as banana bread. Supermart also stocks gourmet breads baked by the Grand Central Deli.
The Supermart also stocks a large selection of wines from around the world, as well as beers and spirits. When planning that Sunday afternoon barbeque keep in mind that Bermuda’s strict licensing laws prohibit the purchase of alcohol on the Sabbath.
They also carry a good selection of foreign newspapers and magazines (Newsweek, Miami Herald, Financial Times etc.)
There is a Bank of Bermuda ATM inside the store, accessible during opening times.
