Health

No inoculations or other unusual health precautions are required for Bermuda. Visitors should be wary of sunburn and sunstroke and are advised to use adequate sunblock and limit their exposure, especially at midday and during the first days of their vacation.

Prescription drugs can be brought in so long as they are kept in their proper prescription bottle and clearly labelled. They must be declared to a Customs Officer upon arrival in Bermuda. Supplies should be sufficient only for the duration of stay.

Bermuda is favourable to hay fever sufferers as any pollen is quickly blown out to sea. Visitors should be wary of the Portuguese man-of-war that occasionally appears on Bermuda’s beaches and in its waters.

The island has a good health service but it isn’t free, so comprehensive travel insurance is a must.

Pops :
I would definately recommend that anybody visiting Bermuda take out health insurance. They have a reasonable health care system but anything complicated will require a medical air flight to the States. The cost of this would bankcrupt most people.
