Bermuda Post Office

Post Offices

Post offices are found throughout the island. Bermuda's main post office is located on Church Street in Hamilton. However you may wish to purchase your stamps and postcards at the delightful Perot Post Office.

Services

The Bermuda Post Office can take care of your various mailing requirements: letters, postcards and parcels. Items can be sent by either airmail or ‘surface’ mail. ‘Surface’ mail items are actually sent by airmail but the item is actually held in Bermuda for several days after the closing date for ‘surface’ mail. The closing date for ‘surface’ mail is displayed in the post office. ‘Surface’ mail items are held for a period of time equivalent to the time it would take a ship to sail from Bermuda to the destination of your mail. For example, mail to the US is held for 3 days after closing date, while items destined for the UK are held for 4 days. ‘Surface’ mail prices are approximately half the airmail rate.

Rates

A full list of rates can be found on the Bermuda Post Office’s website. The current rate for sending a postcard to the US or Canada is 70c while that for the UK is 80c.

Reader Comments and Additional Information

jim :
The postal system in Bermuda is useless. It's not too bad going out of the country, for postcards etc. But the internal mail is horrendously slow. I frequently get late payment charges etc before the bill actually arrives.
