Horizons and Cottages
Horizons and Cottages is an upmarket Bermuda cottage colony is set on a hilltop amidst 25 acres of terraced gardens and lawns. A converted 18th century manor house lies at its centre, with 13 cottages dotted around the grounds. It is one of the only 2 members in Bermuda of the Relais & Chateaux association; the international organisation of refined hotels. The other Bermuda member is its sister hotel; Waterloo House.
The main building, Plantation House, with its whitewashed roof, pink façade and tray ceilings is a typical example of Bermudian architecture. It houses 9 guestrooms each with a sitting area and private bathroom. The rest of the guestrooms are located in the cottages. Each cottage has between 1 and 5 guestrooms, each with a private bathroom and breakfast terrace. Most of the cottages also have a sitting room with fireplace where guests
can socialise with their fellow visitors.
Their daily rates include breakfast, served in your own cottage or with other guests on the Pool Terrace, and afternoon tea. Guests can take dinner in the Middleton Room or Ocean Terrace (jacket and tie required for men). The menu was created by internationally renowned chef Anton Mosimann.
There’s usually some sort of entertainment during dinner, often a classical guitarist or calypso band. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres are served nightly prior to dining. During the summer, gentlemen can discard their jackets and ties at the casual barbeques held every Friday evening. Horizons & Cottages welcomes children but doesn’t operate any dedicated program. They are, however, happy to arrange babysitters.
Horizons & Cottages also has its very own 9-hole golf course but they can arrange tee-times at any of Bermuda’s golf courses (including the 3 private courses; Mid Ocean Club, Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club and the Tucker’s Point Club. The retreat also boasts a heated freshwater pool, 3 tennis courts, a croquet lawn and putting green.
Guests staying at the Horizons & Cottages can take advantage of the facilities at the nearby exclusive Coral Beach & Tennis Club. These include a private beach, tennis courts, squash courts, fitness centre and beauty spa. Visitors are also welcome to watch prestigious world class yachting events, such as the King Edward VII Gold Cup, from the terrace of its sister property, Waterloo House.

Service is pretty good and the rooms large. There's something on most nights and the Friday night bbq's are not to be missed.
