The Reefs Bermuda

The Reefs is a small, luxury Bermuda hotel that's nestled on a cliff overlooking its own private beach. It features consistently in the awards pages of publications such as Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure. If you’re still not convinced you should stay here then carry on reading.

The Reefs offers its guests a good selection of rooms. Those seeking a little more privacy can choose from several cottages located away from the main buildings. While accommodations vary they all come with ocean views, air conditioning, separate bathroom, refrigerator, data port, safe, coffee maker, iron and hairdryer. Complimentary beverages await your arrival and newspapers are delivered daily.

The Reefs offers a multitude of dining options. There's indoor dining at Grill 56 or al fresco at the Ocean Echo Terrace and Coconuts beach bar and restaurant. In the summer, entertainment from local artists is provided every evening. Guests seeking more variety can take advantage of the hotel’s dine-around program. Providing space is available, visitors can take dinner at other hotels (Cambridge Beaches and Pompano Beach Club).

The hotel’s freshwater infinity pool gives you the feeling that you are in the ocean. All that’s missing is the fish. If you crave the real thing, the Reefs has its own private beach where snorkelling and kayaking equipment can be rented. Landlubbers can use one of the hotel’s two tennis courts, fitness centre or shuffleboard. After all that exercise you may need to relax with a Thai massage in the hotel’s spa, La Serena.

If for some strange reason you feel the urge to leave the resort then you can rent a scooter at Oleander Cycles. Nearby beaches include Church Bay and Horseshoe Bay, The Port Royal Golf Course, Fairmont Southampton Golf Club, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and the Railway Trail are also close by.

Reader Reviews and Additional Information

carole tomlinson :
Just a short note to say that over the last 30 years my husband and I have been to the Reefs at least 6 times. In a word "wonderful". If I ever go back to Bermuda it is the only place I will stay.
Rich :
Lots of good things to say about this place. Great location and spectacular views, but what made it for us was the staff - they were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The room was absolutely immaculate, but what proved to be the hotel's best advert was the number of repeat visitors who we met staying there. Great place!
AJ New York :
This is an unbeatable place if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday on Bermuda. Views were spectacular, service was superb, and transport to get around the island was cheap and efficient. I expected it to be good after reading the reviews, but it really exceeded all my expectations.
Todd :
As repeat visitors we are probably in a better position than most to judge this place. I can only say that the service has been first class every time we have stayed here and it is really difficult to find any faults. You really get the impression that they are doing their best for you. Naturally, we would recommend it unreservedly.
Karen :
Wouldn't stay anywhere else now on Bermuda. A really excellent place!
Jake :
This is a terrific place to stay and when I was there the staff really went that extra mile so many times. You get fantastic views, your own private beach and an excellent choice of restaurants. The place is fairly quiet but still offers great nightly entertainment. I would certainly recommend it.
PJ :
The Sunday Brunch at the Reefs is pretty good value at $40 per head.

I've been to Bermuda many times and will now only consider staying here.
shipwrecked :
The hotel has its own entertainment, but if you want to try something different the Henry VIII pub is just a short walk away.
shipwrecked :
I would also suggest taking the private dinner on the beach. The torches, sound of the waves etc. make it a really romantic experience.

We had our honeymoon at the Reefs and were very impressed. Everybody went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
It's quite a small hotel and has a great beach and cool infinity pool.
There's a bus stop right outside which makes getting around the island a lot easier (no need for expensive taxis).
dion :
Coconuts restaurant has excellent food and a great setting. I recommend you reserve though.
SW :
The private beach is very nice and the water clear as crystal. Kayaks, beach chairs, and umbrellas were readily available.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent. They also servied afternoon tea with delicious scones and sandwiches.
I would definately recommend this hotel to anybody thinking of a trip to Bermuda.
