The Rosedon Hotel
The Rosedon is a 47-room Bermuda hotel located in a quiet residential area 10 minutes’ walk from Hamilton. The main building, constructed in 1906, and 4 wings surround a heated freshwater pool. The whole complex is nestled in grounds blessed with luscious sub-tropical plants. Almost all the members of staff at this hotel are Bermudian and have an average of 20 years of service under their belts, so the hotel runs extremely smoothly.
The hotel has several room types; all with air conditioning, cable TV, telephone with voice mail, radio, coffee maker, refrigerator, wall safe, iron and board and internet access for your laptop.
Its proximity to Hamilton means it is popular with business visitors. Tourists are not forgotten, though, and a complimentary taxi service to a private South Shore beach is provided. The Rosedon Hotel also continues the Bermudian tradition of serving afternoon tea at 16:00. Light evening meals are served on request but those needing something more substantial can try one of the many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. These include The Harbourfront, Little Venice, L’Oriental, Ristorante Primavera, The Lobster Pot, Portofino Restaurant and the Robin Hood pub.
Full breakfast can be enjoyed in your room, on the patio or poolside. There is a wealth of dining options in nearby Hamilton but light meals can be ordered for lunch and dinner. In the main building are 2 lounges, one with a VCR and large-screen TV where top movies are shown nightly. There is also an honour bar where visitors sign vouchers for the drinks they serve themselves and receive their final bill at check-out. The fact that this system continues to operate certainly says something about the pedigree of this hotel’s guests.
