Royal Palms Hotel

The Royal Palms Hotel is situated in a tranquil residential area of Bermuda, just 10 minutes walk from Hamilton. Its location makes it popular with business visitors and those not looking for a beach vacation.

The hotel is owned and operated by brother-and-sister Richard Smith and Susan Weare. Hospitality is clearly in their blood as their mother owns the nearby Oxford House.

Royal Palms Hotel The hotel is set in spectacular grounds and, with its white roof and shutters, is a shining example of Bermudian architecture. 32 guest rooms and suites are split between the main building, constructed over 100 years ago, and more recent buildings constructed in the same style. All accommodations have air conditioning, cable TV, internet access, telephone, private bathroom, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities. The suites and cottages have kitchenettes. Rates vary by season and type of room.

A buffet continental breakfast is included and can be eaten inside or al fresco on the terrace. Ascots, a popular and privately owned restaurant, is situated on the premises and there’s a good selection of others nearby including The Harbourfront, Little Venice, L’Oriental, Ristorante Primavera, The Lobster Pot, Portofino Restaurant and the Robin Hood.

The hotel has a freshwater pool and terraces set in sub-tropical gardens. Richard is a member of the renowned Mid Ocean Golf Club and consequently should be able to secure you a tee-time. Guests of the Royal Palms Hotel wishing to explore Bermuda at their own pace can hire a scooter from Smatt’s Cycle Livery just down the road.

Just perfect place to stay in having business and pleasure trip to Bermuda. It's walking distance from main city, Hamilton. The room was clean, spacious and lovely setting and superb breakfast for starting the day (thanks to John). The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an unusual felling during my stay. I missed my room, a home away from home.

Difficult to find fault with this place. The room was absolutely spotless, a credit to the housekeepers, and the rest of the service during our stay was equally good. The excellent continental style buffet breakfast really set you up for the day and the brilliant location ensured that you could fit in a multitude of attractions in just a few hours. Would recommend it to anyone.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We booked a family room for 4 people and it turned out to be ideal. The room was clean and spacious, there was a sofa bed for the kids, and we even had a kitchenette where we could make quick snacks - ideal when you're travelling with teenagers. The staff were also excellent and full of useful information. Can't wait to come back.

Apart from a plethora of places to eat and drink within easy walking distance this is a great base from which to explore the islands attractions. Public transport by either bus or ferry is excellent and it's still easy to get to the better beaches if that's what you're after. Staff were great and the buffet breakfast especially good.

Lovely setting and very friendly and attentive staff. I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic place! The grounds are lovely and the location was so convenient for doing stuff in Hamilton. The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated and even had a microwave which was great if you just wanted a quick snack. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful as well. Very highly recommended.

Yes, the restaurant here is definately one of Bermuda's finest. Try it even if you are not staying here.

The restaurant here, Ascots, is one of the best in Bermuda. The staff are very nice and the hotel clean, although some furnishings are a little old. The area is very nice, just a short walk from the city of Hamilton. The nearest beaches are a fair distance though, you'll need to get a taxi, bus or hire a scooter.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this hotel, and you are likely to be dealing directly with the owners. The area is very safe and pleasant and just a short walk to Hamilton.
