Broadway Bistro at La Coquille

Award-winning chef, Serge Bottelli, has brought the cuisine of the French Provence right to the heart of Bermuda and very grateful we are. If you watch the Travel Channel you may recognize him as he featured in their show ‘Great Chefs of the World’.
La Coquille, French for ‘shell’, is located on the lower level of the pristine building of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. Enter the restaurant and you will find yourself in Beebe’s Lounge. Named after the famous underwater explorer, Charles Beebe, this section of La Coquille has several tables with comfortable armchairs set under an undulating cedar ceiling. A relief by Italian artist Serge Rubino hangs on the wall and adds the finishing touches to the décor. Beebe’s welcomes guests who just want to have a drink, enjoy tapas or wait for their fellow diners to arrive.
Diners can enjoy Bottelli’s cuisine in the porch. Enclosed in glass, and with a sophisticated air conditioning system, the porch offers spectacular views of the lower end of Hamilton Harbour and La Coquille’s very own dock. Why does La Coquille have a dock? The answer is simple: many guests choose to arrive by boat.
In the appetisers we like Escargots Bourguignon (snails simmered in herb and garlic butter, toasted focaccia). Mains are also interesting; perhaps Frog Legs Provencale or Calf Liver and Fried Onions.
