Cycling in Bermuda

Packs of Bermudian teens on scooters, narrow and winding roads, and steep hills should scare all but the undaunted cyclist from venturing out in Bermuda. However, there is an alternative. By using the Railway Trail, it is possible to escape most contact with your gas-guzzling counterparts. Much of the trail is shaded and offers views of Bermuda not otherwise seen. An excellent route is to take the bike on the ferry from Hamilton to Royal Naval Dockyard and cycle back, via the Railway Trail, to Paget and then onto Hamilton. There’s no additional charge for taking a cycle on the ferry.

Cycles can be hired from Eve’s Cycles. EZ Rider also offer tours of the island on electric-powered mountain bikes.
