Which airlines offer direct flights to Bermuda?

All direct flights to Bermuda originate in Canada, the United States, or the UK.

The following airlines currently offer direct, non-stop flights to Bermuda:

• British Airways – flights from London Gatwick
• Air Canada – flights from Halifax and Toronto
• AirTran Airways – low cost airline offering cheap flights to Bermuda from Atlanta and Baltimore (summer only)
• American Airlines – from Miami and New York (JFK)

Which beaches in Bermuda have lifeguards?

The Bermuda Lifeguard Service was founded in 1987. Lifeguard coverage is provided on a seasonal basis at four beaches from 10 am until 6 pm:

Where is the British Airways office in Bermuda?

The British Airways office in Bermuda is located at LF Wade International Airport. Services offered include ticket sales and alterations.

It is currently open 7 days a week from 5.30 pm until 8 pm, coinciding with the departure time of flights from Bermuda to London.

The company used to have an office on Front Street in Hamilton. It closed in December 2005 as part of a cost cutting exercise.


Where can I find tourist information while in Bermuda?

The best place to get up to date info about Bermuda is at one of the island’s Visitor Information Centres.

They stock a good selection of books, brochures, pamphlets, guides, maps, and flyers. They also sell bus and ferry tickets.

Staff with good local knowledge can also answer questions about things to do, attractions, events, etc.

There are also VICs at the King’s Wharf and Heritage Wharf cruise ship terminals (at Royal Naval Dockyard).


Is there a Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Bermuda?

No.

In 2007 a development company was given planning permission to build a Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Hamilton, near Par-la-Ville Park.

The project never came to fruition. In June 2009 plans were announced to build a St Regis hotel in the same location.


Is there a Carlson Hotel in Bermuda?

No.

Carlson is family-held corporation based in Minneapolis. Their hotel brands include Regent Hotels and Resorts, Radisson Hotels & Resorts, Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Country Inns & Suites, and Park Inn.

In July 2004 they announced plans to build a 5-star hotel near Par-la-Ville Park in Hamilton. However, later in the year the landowners, the Corporation of Hamilton, pulled out of the deal.

In June 2009 Starwood Hotels announced plans to open the St Regis Bermuda on the same site.

Bermuda has a couple of ice cream parlours; the Bailey’s Ice Cream in Hamilton Parish (opposite the Swizzle Inn) and Haagen-Dazs at the Clocktower Mall, Royal Naval Dockyard.
