Is Triminghams still open?

Triminghams was a department store in Bermuda popular with cruise ship visitors.

Unfortunately, it failed to convert this popularity into hard sales and closed in 2005.

Its a tragedy that Triminghams has gone. Yes, their polo shirts were of unbeatable quality. I still have two, which have been washed countless times yet are still a cut above anything you can find in top tailoring stores in London. I wonder did the products die with the store or did someone else take over selling them because if so they need support.

I am disappointed to hear that Trimingham's closed. I purchased a long sleeved polo weather shirt over 20 years ago that has worked well in the cold golfing weather of MN, and sometimes in AZ and TX. I was hoping to buy a new one in August 2010.

I am sorry that Triminghams has closed. It was one of my very favourite stores in Bermuda.

I'm disappointed to find that Trimingham's no longer exists. A polo shirt purchased there when I was 12 remains in memory as one of the great clothing purchases of my life.

I always enjoyed shopping at Trimingham's when visiting Bermuda for business or pleasure. Visited Bermuda this past week, and was very disappointed to see that the store has closed. Management and staff always did a fine job.

We were on a cruise to Bermuda last week and was very sad to find Trimingham's had closed. Their sales staff were always most helpful. I bought my daughter's Lenox china there. It was much less money than in the U.S. and there was no tax or shipping to my home.

How sad. My husband's grandfather bought a well made madras blazer from Trimingham's in the 1950's or 1960's. He had lived on Bermuda and met my husband's grandmother there in the late 1920's. That jacket has gotten a lot of wear and compliments. My husband's grandfather, my husband and now our two sons. We adored buying cashmere sweaters and wonderful china from Trimingham's. Another sweet part of the World gone. Alas!

Whenever I think of Triminghams, I think of their blue silk ties decorated with a repeated pattern of little St. David's lighthouses. These ties were presented to skippers and navigators of yachts in the Bermuda Race, with the year of entry stitched below each little lighthouse. For those who didn't compete, the ties (minus date) were available over the store's counter. They looked terrific with the traditional island outfit of navy blazer, Bermuda shorts and knee-length socks -- naturally, also available at Triminghams.

Trimingham's had a very nice product that awaited sailors at the end of yacht races finishing in Bermuda. They would apply your initials on the pocket of a polo shirt. The initials were in a nautical flag alphabet. Very distinctive!

My husband bought a belt in Trimingham's on a Bermuda vacation and had it for years. It finally wore out and he bought others at different places but said that the Trimingham's was the best belt ever. I wanted to replace it for him and am so bummed that it is closed!

On my visit to Bermuda last year,I was so sorry to find that Trimingham's has closed. I bought my china, crystal, Swarovski and Chanel there. The first place I stopped on my many visits to Bermuda. I'll be arriving by ship next week and will not bother to go to Hamilton.

A wonderful piece of my life is gone forever.
I would send my boys to Mrs. Masters (what a lovely lady) she would outfit them with school clothes. I wouldn't need to take time away from work, as she would put the charge on my bill. Bless you Mrs. Masters and Triminghams.
A lovely piece of the world still brings a smile to my face.
