Following the runaway success of the Swizzle Inn in Hamilton Parish, Jay Correira copied the formula and opened a branch of the restaurant in Warwick. Like the original establishment it boasts a crowd of devoted both locals and tourists, drawn by its signature drink and reasonably priced pub grub.
For those not in the know, the Rum Swizzle is a rum-based cocktail, often referred to as Bermuda’s national drink. The Swizzle Inn’s version is made with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, pineapple and lemon juice, falernum, and a ‘few secret ingredients’. It’s served from a pitcher and packs a punch. The Swizzle Inn’s moto “Swizzle Inn, Swagger Out” is thoroughly deserved.
An extensive menu offers pub grub with an island-flavoured twist. Soups, salads, nachos, wings, pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, curries, fish and steak dishes are all available. Signature dishes include Bermuda Fish Chowder, a spicy soup, and the Bailey’s Bay Fish Sandwich, a monstrous grilled fish sandwich. There’s also a special menu for children under 12.
Patrons can dine inside or sit on the terrace and watch the comings and goings on South Road. There’s entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. The bar is also a popular spot for watching English Premiership matches and other sports events.
The Swizzle Inn South Shore is open 7 days a week from 11 am until 1 am. It’s situated on South Road in Warwick Parish. To reach it by public transport, catch bus number 7 from Hamilton or Dockyard. There’s plenty of parking for those travelling by scooter.
