Queen's Birthday Parade
Although local interest in the Queen’s Birthday Parade is waning, with many Bermudians seeing the day as just another public holiday, visitors find its military pomp fascinating.
The parade, which takes starts at 10 am, includes members of the Bermuda Regiment, the Bermuda Sea Cadets and others. Dressed in their colourful uniforms the participants march down Front Street towards the Cenotaph, stopping half-way for inspection by the Governor, the official representative of the Queen, in his ostrich-feathered hat. The Bermuda Regiment Band plays ‘God Save the Queen’ before a 21-gun salute is given in her honour.
