Head of Finance

Our client, a fast growing Bermuda-based reinsurance company require a Head of Finance. The successful candidate will play an important, pivotal role in the business and, in addition to managing the day to day operations of the finance function, will work with the board to drive the business forward.

Job Description:

Duties include:

• Preparation of management and statutory accounts
• Monitoring, measuring, and forecasting business performance
• Overseeing a small finance team
• Preparation of statutory returns
• Liaison with 3rd parties (auditors, regulators etc.)
• Implementing systems and internal controls to minimise exposure to risk

Requirements:

• Internationally recognised accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CGA etc.) plus a minimum of 8 years’ post qualification experience in a financial environment, preferably insurance or reinsurance
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP
• Highly IT literate
• A proven track record in initiating and leading projects
• Strong people management skills
• Personable, approachable, and able to communicate effective with all levels of staff
