Account Executive

A leading international Insurance Manager is seeking a suitable candidate for an Account Executive position in Bermuda. The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of client insurance programs around the world.

Preferred candidates will meet as much as possible of the following requirements:
• University degree and a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, CA, CPA or similar)
• A minimum of two years of professional post qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP
• Prior experience with insurance/investment accounting standards preferred
• Knowledge of ILS structures would be an asset
• Candidates with prior experience/knowledge of the Bermuda/international insurance market would have an advantage
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

This is a FT/staff-based role in Bermuda. Compensation offered is competitive and commensurate with the responsibilities of this position. Salaries in Bermuda are paid in USD equivalent with maximum payroll tax deduction of 5.25%.

Reinsurance Accountant

This will be an excellent opportunity for a qualified Accountant with reinsurance industry experience to join our client’s office in Bermuda.

The successful candidate will join a team of professionals responsible for providing accounting services related to reinsurance transactions. We are seeking as much as possible of the following in a preferred applicant:

- Completed CA, ACCA or CPA designation
- 2+ years of PQE in a similar role within the reinsurance industry
- Advanced Genius experience, including interface level experience, contract entry and monthly close processes
- Technical knowledge of reinsurance treaties and terminology
- Working knowledge of US GAAP

Primary duties may include:
- Account for reinsurance capital market products
- Quality review of premium & claims bookings before releasing to accounting system
- Processing pro rata reinsurance bordereau
- Assist cash processing team with allocations and amendments
- Assist with monitoring and controlling reinsurance balances due to the company
- Perform monthly closing procedures for the reinsurance accounting system, including reconciliations and analyses
- Develop reinsurance system reports required for monitoring underwriting results
- Reconcile collateral position on a monthly basis
- Assist with the preparation of group reporting consolidation package and GAAP financial statements as it relates to reinsurance balances
- Assist with the year-end financial statements audit process as it relates to reinsurance balances

Financial Controller

Our client, a leading Bermuda-based Information Technology company, require an experienced financial controller. The successful candidate will take responsibility for accurate and timely preparation of all financial, statutory, and management accounts, and improve financial processes and procedures.

Job Description:

Duties include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts)
• Assisting the Financial Director with preparation of the annual budget
• Balance sheet reconciliations, maintenance of fixed asset register and associated schedules
• Credit control and debt collection
• Cash management and forecasting
• Preparation of annual accounts and arranging and overseeing the annual audit
• Managing and training a small accounting team

Requirements:

• A professional accounting qualification (CA, ACA)
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience of US GAAP and SEC compliance
• Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office

Fund Accountant

Our clients are providers of administration services for funds and hedge funds domiciled in Bermuda. The successful candidate will:-

• Prepare the valuation of their assigned funds on a weekly/monthly basis as applicable.
• Be responsible for accounting and reconciling their funds for review by senior management.
• Will be the main contact for auditors and regulatory authorities in relation to the funds and liaise accordingly.
• Be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Must be extremely deadline conscious and have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure assigned tasks are completed to deadline.

Requirements:

• An accounting designation is preferred (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) OR an appropriate level of experience in fund/hedge fund accounting.
• Experience of working in a deadline orientated environment.

Account Executive

Our client is seeking to source account executives for its expanding captive management operations in Bermuda. The successful candidate will be assigned several captive insurance companies across a variety of industries. The successful candidate will be expected to perform the accounting duties for these companies including (but not restricted to):-

• Preparing management financial statements to deadline (monthly/quarterly).
• Prepare annual GAAP audited financial statements.
• Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities as appropriate.
• Perform and account for the accounting transactions required for each company.
• Communicate effectively with client staff.
• Prepare additional financial reports and engage in project work as requested by clients/senior management.

Requirements:

• Preparation of management financial statements on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
• Preparation of GAAP audited financial statements as required.

• Possible attendance at board meetings of the parent companies of the captive insurance companies.
• An ability to work effectively in a team structure.

• A high level of self-motivation.
