This will be an excellent opportunity for the right person to put their database expertise to use with one of Bermuda’s leading financial institutions. The position would be well suited to someone with several years of DBA experience in a banking or financial environment with strong DB2, Oracle and SQL experience.

Primary duties will involve installing, monitoring, maintaining and performance tuning production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. The role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. This individual will also be responsible for producing reports and data extracts as required.

We are seeking the following background in a preferred candidate:

- 4+ years of relevant database administration experience in a banking (or financial services) environment
- Solid experience designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers, including DB2, Oracle and MS-SQL Server
- Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and other data extract utilities
- Knowledge of data protection and recovery practices including backup and recovery tools and techniques, synchronization, BCP
- Degree in computer science or related field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Description:

Our client is looking for an experienced Operational Risk Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying risks in the Bank’s processes and to recommend solutions to alleviate these risk areas. The candidate must be able to liaise with bank personnel of all levels. Key responsibilities are:-

• Performing risk assessment reports on the bank’s processes
• Work with all Department heads and overseas subsidiaries to ensure the Bank’s Risk Management framework is satisfactory and understand the implications of the impending Basel Capital Accord.
• Ensure recommendations made are implemented.
• Perform an ongoing review of the Bank’s Risk Capital Allocation Model.
• Perform an ongoing review of International Regulations and their impact on the Bank’s Risk Management.

Job Description:

The candidate will be expected to take a lead role in the financial planning activities, financial reporting, budgetary analysis, and other general research activities in the Retail and Corporate Banking Division of the company.
