Chief Technology Officer / IT Manager – Bermuda

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior IT Professional with a strong software development background to join the fast paced trading environment of a global hedge fund based in Bermuda.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and support of all internal applications, working directly with the front and back office in a RAD environment. In addition, they will be responsible for managing and developing the IT infrastructure and will manage and maintain relationships with third party vendors and service providers.

Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of related senior level experience within a hedge fund, bank or financial institution environment.
- A relevant post secondary degree
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously while managing an IT infrastructure
- Certifications in Microsoft .NET development and SQL 2005/2008 would be an asset.

Technical experience in as many as possible of the following:
- Maintenance of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) within Excel
- Maintenance and debugging of legacy PHP code
- MS SQL Server experience including design, development, installation and maintenance
- Microsoft .NET Framework and C#/VB.NET development (Visual Studio 2008 onwards would be ideal)
- Experience with Bloomberg and the Bloomberg API – experience with other real time market data feeds would be a plus
- Electronic Trading Systems development. Experience with FIX would be an asset
- Java and JavaScript experience would be an asset
- VMWare infrastructure setup and maintenance

We are seeking an industry experienced Systems Developer to join our client, an investment management company based in Bermuda. Working in a team based setting, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing in-house software systems in both Windows and web environments.

Requirements include:
- Strong academic background with a record of high achievement (1st class/high GPA): a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics or related field at a minimum, a Master’s degree would be a strong asset

• Prepare the valuation of their assigned funds on a weekly/monthly basis as applicable.
• Be responsible for accounting and reconciling their funds for review by senior management.
• Will be the main contact for auditors and regulatory authorities in relation to the funds and liaise accordingly.

• Must be extremely deadline conscious and have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure assigned tasks are completed to deadline.

Requirements:

• An accounting designation is preferred (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) OR an appropriate level of experience in fund/hedge fund accounting.
• Experience of working in a deadline orientated environment.
• Above average communication skills and experience of working in a team environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and with accounting software packages.

Requirements for the role include:-

Key requirements include but are not restricted to:-
