On behalf of our client, an international fund management company, we are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Senior Systems Analyst.

Overview:
The successful candidate will join the global trading team in Bermuda as a senior analyst within the Trading Reporting and Governance group. They will work closely with other members of the business unit to provide systems risk management, IT governance oversight and reporting services. This is not a developer role but does require past development experience.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar discipline) with a first-class academic record
•A minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial industry
•Demonstrable proficiency in VB.Net or C# programming; Excel tools and VBA coding
•Demonstrable proficiency with developing queries for relational database management systems (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server); 3 or more years of experience
•An understanding of the risks associated with financial products and execution process (qualification in Finance or Risk Management is preferred)
•Familiarity with IT control frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITCG, or similar)
•Experience with the software development process and business continuity (disaster recovery) planning

We are seeking an accomplished Application Developer on behalf of an alternative investment management company based on the Island. The successful candidate will enjoy playing a key role in the development and maintenance of leading edge in-house trading, risk and accounting systems.

This is a demanding position within the company that will suit an industrious and adaptable IT specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in a challenging software development role within a hedge fund, bank or other financial institution.

We are seeking as much as possible of the following in a preferred candidate:

•Four plus years of experience in a software development role in the financial services.
•Demonstrable experience in the development of front and back office systems. Knowledge of trading systems, P&L, pricing and integration of data feeds would be a plus.
•Deep C# development skills – to implement both GUI and server components of in-house systems.
•Strong knowledge in Winform, LINQ and SQL. Experience with WPF, Silverlight, XAML would be of benefit.
•Working knowledge of design patterns / API design and OO architecture.
•Experience with VBA and PHP would be an asset.
•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
•System and network admin skills in Server 2008, SQL Server, VMware.

Our clients are providers of administration services for funds and hedge funds domiciled in Bermuda. The successful candidate will:-

• Prepare the valuation of their assigned funds on a weekly/monthly basis as applicable.
• Be responsible for accounting and reconciling their funds for review by senior management.
• Will be the main contact for auditors and regulatory authorities in relation to the funds and liaise accordingly.
• Be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Must be extremely deadline conscious and have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure assigned tasks are completed to deadline.

Requirements:

• An accounting designation is preferred (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) OR an appropriate level of experience in fund/hedge fund accounting.
• Experience of working in a deadline orientated environment.
• Above average communication skills and experience of working in a team environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and with accounting software packages.

Our client is Bermuda based fund services provider establishing a new office on the Isle of Man to add to its growing world-wide portfolio of eight offices. They require Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants to join their new team. Reporting to your Account Manager key responsibilities include but are not restricted to:-

• The preparation of NAVs’s to pre-arranged deadline.
• Ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and accounted for appropriately.
• Perform appropriate reconciliation procedures on fund data.
• Effective liaison with clients and ensuring client queries are responded to on a timely basis.
• Effective liaison with the external auditors and other regulatory bodies.
• Ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Requirements for the role include:-

• Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage.
• 2-3 years experience in a similar role is required for the Senior Fund Accountant role.
• An accounting qualification is an advantage.
• Above average communication skills are required both written and verbal.
• Above average interpersonal skills are a must.

A Bermuda-based Hedge fund administration services provider is seeking an Operations Manager for its newly established Isle of Man office based in Douglas. You will be reporting to the Managing Director and will be committed to providing the highest service to your clients.

The main responsibilities for this role include:-

• The management of a team of staff to effectively apply the company’s high standard of client care and service.
• The management of the training needs of the team.
• The effective management of set budgets, financial and non-financial targets.
• Performing an ongoing review of the offices procedures and control environment and ensuring that the office meets applicable standards and regulations and also conforms to company standards.
• Ultimate responsibility for the provision of financial reports to clients and regulatory authorities alike.

Key requirements include but are not restricted to:-

• A business degree and/or an MBA.
• 5 years experience in a supervisory position within Private Equity Fund administration.
• Prior experience of funds in Eastern Europe, the Far East, and the Indian Sub-Continent are an advantage.
• Prior experience of being in a management position in a start-up environment is an advantage.
