Director Global Sales and Marketing – Insurance

Our Bermuda based client is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Director, Global Sales and Marketing. This exciting new role offers the opportunity to design, build and lead a group-wide sales and marketing division. You will be challenged with maximizing global sales opportunities in various geographical jurisdictions for the full range of product offerings (Health Insurance, General Insurance, Life and Pensions) through the development of business to business and business to client distribution channels.
You will have a proven track record of defining winning customer and marketing strategies, combined with demonstrated operational expertise. With a small team of direct reports, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward growth and diversification of group sales while building brand value through effective leadership and hands-on management.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- Builds group-wide sales and marketing strategies to increase sales and revenue in targeted geographic niche markets
- Helps deliver on the corporate strategy, plans and objectives
- Leads and coaches sales and marketing teams covering multiple geographic locations, various customer segments and broad range of product lines
- Establishes group-wide sales targets and metrics to support a performance driven culture
- Develops strategies on the best use of multi-channels, processes and contact methods
- Executes sales and marketing plans working with product development and operations support teams
- Implements customer driven, quality sales processes to garner market insights and establish strategic relationships
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior management sales and marketing position
- Significant management experience gained within the insurance or financial services sectors
- Educated at college level; an advanced university degree such as Master’s in Business Administration would be preferred
- Proven track record in managing high performing sales and marketing teams in different territories using established metrics to create a performance driven culture. Knowledge of European or Mediterranean markets would be a plus.
- Possess broad technical knowledge of financial products and how they are sold in different global territories and via different distribution channels
- Outstanding communication, relationship management, interpersonal and leadership skills
