Work on Four Seasons hotel to commence later this year

Brickman has issued a statement saying that construction work on a new Four Seasons hotel in Bermuda will begin later this year.

The development will consist of a 150 room hotel and 80 fractional units. It will be located on the site of the Coral Beach Club and Horizons & Cottages in Paget Parish.

Brickman is a real estate private equity firm based in New York. They purchased the properties in 2008.

Premier meets the Clintons

Bermuda’s Premier Dr Ewart Brown and his wife Wanda Henton Brown joined US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former US President Bill Clinton for cocktails last night at Horizons & Cottages in Paget Parish. Governor Sir Richard Gozney, Lady Gozney and newly appointed US Consul General to Bermuda Grace Shelton also joined the Clintons at Horizons.

Thursday afternoon the Clintons invited the Browns to join them.

The Clintons were vacationing in Bermuda this week. They departed Bermuda today.

Annual Exhibition 2009

Bermuda’s Annual Exhibition will be held at the Bermuda Botanical Gardens April 16 to 18 2009.

To mark Bermuda’s 400th anniversary the theme of this year’s event will be ‘Celebrating 400 years of agriculture, horticulture, and tradition.’

Harmony Club purchased by Bermuda Government

The Harmony Club in Paget has been purchased by the Bermuda Government from Bermuda Resort Hotels. It will be used to provide accommodation for police recruits from overseas. Bermuda Resort Hotels will use most of the $6.25 million sale proceeds to redevelop one of their other properties, the Surf Side Beach Hotel.

The Seahorse Grill is the people’s choice

A fine dining restaurant at the Elbow Beach hotel has received a top award at a local food festival.

The Seahorse Grill received numerous accolades in this year’s Bermuda Gourmet Getaway People’s Choice Challenge including the top honour for Best Overall Fine Dining Restaurant in Bermuda.
