Bermuda Clayworks is housed in an old navy workshop at the Royal Naval Dockyard and has been Bermuda’s only commercial pottery since 1997. This working pottery with gallery/gift shop offers a diverse range of handmade tableware and studio art.
The outlet showcases the work of several artists including Suzie Lowe, Helle Pukk, and Tini Pinto. The potter’s studio features eclectic yet functional saltglaze stoneware, Raku vessels and sculptural work by founder Jon Faulkner.
Customised hand-painted house plaques are the most popular item with visitors and can be shipped internationally. The Bermuda Clayworks is also known for its vivid island coloured tableware.
Bermuda Clayworks is situated on Camber Road, just east of the Clocktower Mall. In the summer months its open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Winter hours are 9 am to 5 pm.
The pottery holds regular workshops and activities for both visitors and locals. For details of upcoming events visit the official Facebook page.
There’s some very nice work in this pottery shop. The owner/potter was there and was very friendly. Wish I could have purchased more but was limited by my baggage allowance.
Just a quick note to let you know that my sign that I ordered a few weeks back has arrived safe and sound. Can not wait to hang on the house. This is my third one that I have had made by you and I love each and every one of them. See you next year and thanks again.
I visited the Dockyards about 10 years ago. It was great fun seeing the art being created and for sale at the location! I came away with 2 beautiful pottery vases that I enjoy today and hope to return in the near future to show my child the area. I recommend a visit if you are in Bermuda!
