British Airways are currently the only airline offering direct, non-stop flights between the UK and Bermuda. Flights are daily in the summer months and 5 times a week in the off-season.
At the time of writing (July 2014) flights to Bermuda currently leave London Gatwick Airport (LGW) at 2.30 pm and arrive at LF Wade International Airport at 6.10 pm local time, a flight time of 7 hours and 40 minutes (4 hour time difference).
It’s a very nice flight. The afternoon departure time means that there’s no need to get up at the break of dawn, even if you are catching a connecting flight from another UK airport such as Manchester.
The 4 hour time difference between the UK and Bermuda means you land at LF Wade International Airport in the early evening. It gives you plenty of time to unpack and visit a restaurant or bar.
The timing of the return flight is great too. The flight departs at 7.55 pm, giving you plenty of time on your departure date to enjoy the island. It lands in London at 6.30 am, a flight time of 6 hours and 35 minutes.
Shortly after take-off, an evening meal is served. The cabin lights are then dimmed so you can try and get some sleep. Shortly before landing, the lights are turned back on and breakfast served.
The British Airways office in Bermuda is located at LF Wade International Airport. Services offered include ticket sales and alterations.
It is currently open 7 days a week in the early evening, coinciding with the departure time of flights from Bermuda to London.
The company used to have an office on Front Street in Hamilton. It closed in December 2005 as part of a cost cutting exercise.
