Ferries on the Green Route are aimed at commuters travelling to the capital from Southampton and Sandys.
The service operates in the morning and evening, Monday to Friday only.
Scooters are permitted on the Green Route Ferry, but boarding is restricted to specific locations. Passengers with scooters can only embark at Hamilton Ferry Terminal and Rockaway.

Purchase a pass to save money. Booklets of 15 tickets are also available, costing $37.50.
Scooters cost an additional $4.50 if paid for by cash or token. Holders of transport passes are not charged.

Passengers must note that the Green Route ferry only operates Monday to Friday. There is no service on Saturdays and Sundays.
Visitors should also note that Southampton and Sandys are served by bus. Buses 7 and 8 depart from Hamilton and go to the Royal Naval Dockyard, passing through Southampton and Sandys.
Tourist Attractions Served by the Green Route
While the Green Route Ferry primarily serves as a commuter route, it does provide a way to visit some historical sites and areas of interest in Bermuda’s western parishes. Here are some notable historical attractions accessible via the Green Route Ferry:
- Somerset Village: The ferry stops at Watford Bridge in Sandys Parish, close to Somerset Village.
- Somerset Bridge: Near the Cavello Bay stop, passengers can visit Somerset Bridge, renowned as the world’s smallest drawbridge.
- Port Royal Golf Course: Located not far from the Rockaway stop.
- Railway Trail: The Rockaway Ferry stop provides access to a section of the Bermuda Railway Trail, which follows the route of the former Bermuda Railway. This trail offers historical insights into the island’s transportation history and connects to Somerset Bridge and Fort Scaur.
